One of the more interesting online “experiments” I’ve seen is this Twitter account. It’s the project of Oxford history graduate Alwyn Collinson, and is his attempt to tell, in real-time, the events of World War II, as they happened 72 years ago. It’s a vast undertaking, and the attention to detail is impressive. There’s plenty of attached pictures and links, in all the right places.

Of course, this will be a six-year project, and I definitely plan to read it frequently. In addition to being interesting in itself, the account is also illustrative of some of the more creative ways in which social media can be utilised for meaningful purposes. I highly recommend having a look.

After relinquishing myself of blogging “duties” for around a year or so, for reasons still unclear, I find that I am back with a new WordPress theme, a new web host, and exactly the same domain name. I’m not really sure as to how I’ll be using this blog, but the main thing is that I actually do plan on using it, unlike some past attempts. This will probably just be a repository of nothing in particular, and items of questionable value.

I expect there to be a fair bit of change to the blog over the next month or so, as I adjust the theme and find a look I actually like. In the meantime, however: Hello.

Goodbye for now.
